The Solemn Responsibilities of a Prosecutor

During her time as a prosecutor, Alison Kerestes learned how to effectively prepare for the courtroom. She is aware of how many cases never make it to trial. As a judicial candidate, she recognizes that being the victim of a crime can be incredibly emotional, and the system does not always provide enough support. Alison knows how to keep the defense on track and make the appropriate decisions when it comes to sentencing.

Protecting Civil Rights as a Defense Attorney

During her time as a defense attorney, Alison learned there is more than one side to every story.  She recognizes the whole stories behind criminal defendants facing justice and recognizes the need for equal justice convictions and fair sentencing. As a judicial candidate who values rehabilitation, Alison believes the restoration of people must play a role in adjudicating nonviolent and drug crimes

Alison understands that most defendants have family members who love and depend upon them them, even if they aren’t always seen in court. She is determined to be a fair judge who is willing to hear what the defense has to say, and consider alternative sanctions besides imprisonment or jailing.
